Would be good to see a machine like the old Wilburt Combustioneer MKIV being made. Mine last 25 tears. I believe this woukd work with Bit coal and pellets. I ordered and paid for a Harman forced air furnace this spring. Am awaiting the new builders to come through for winter. I hope they do offer something soon. Will check out the show info.

I was talking with a dealer about buying a Harman TLC 2000 because I like the dual fuel capability.

My question: the dealer now says that it may be 6 to 8 weeks before AHC can deliver such a stove. Is that a real time line, or does AHC now have to build a fabrication facility from scratch, in which case 6 to 8 weeks seems rather optimistic. I got the impression that they have no unallocated inventory.

If all of their inventory is allocated (with none unallocated) that means their production schedule is filling orders. It seems to me that you are merely placing an order and getting in line just like many others.

My question was whether there will be a gap in production. That is, has Harman now stopped producing, but AHC must tool up? Or is there an ongoing production process that just changed hands. I fear it is the former, and that there will be a wait of unpredictable duration during the transfer.

The dealer was surprised by the news of the transfer, and by the delay, so the waiting time is not simply the normal order-filling backlog.

We are making steady progress regarding production of the stoves, but have started in a deeper hole than anyone here would have liked. I wish the issue would have been limited to "tooling up", but unfortunately, there have been some delays in getting BOMs and other manufacturing data from HHT. Rest assured, though there will be delays in getting units this fall, delays that have already pushed us out of optimum delivery schedules for this heating season, we will be producing lots of stoves this fall and winter.

Guess we were lucky to find a TLC-2000 in stock. It was probably delivered to the dealer before Harman sold the coal line.

JVD533 - I hope you can find one. We went with the TLC for the same reason of fuel flexibility and electric not required. Good Luck!

I loved the quality of my Harman Mark I. My "only" complaints were:
1) No hopper.
2) No thermostat.
3) Required a noisy convection fan for efficiency.
4) I do NOT :!: understand the Harman firebox design where the front firebricks are only half the height of the sides and rear. Try to get a reasonable amount of coal in the stove and it just falls out the door and burns out the front firebrick retaining bracket.

In other words, build me a DS Machine circulator stove but with Harman quality, ruggedness, and precision. :)

The dealer (Edwards in Port Republic VA) and the company responded immediately to the concerns I registered, and the stove is waiting for me. It will be delivered as soon as I get back East, in a couple of weeks.

Now my problem is that the chimney, which is an all-metal job, needs to be beefed up. The present stove is wood only, and the stove pipe is single-walled to the chimney proper. Unfortunately, the installer has gone out of business and left town, and nobody seems to know who made it, so no one knows what to order to make it all double-walled. Does anyone know a good chimney company in the area north of Harrisonburg, VA -- I am 27 miles north of there, near New Market.

We are nearing completion on UL listing with Omni Laboratories. This involved a lot of work on labels and manuals to bring them up to the latest standards, plus doing French translations. No reengineering was required on any of the Harman freestanding stoves on this first round. The models covered are the Super Magnum Stoker, The TLC 2000, and the Mark I, II and III stoves. A label to print tags should be going to our vendor this week!

”On this first round?” Does the UL listing have to be recertified periodically?

^ There are some product changes in play on the SF boilers to beef them up. All of the formerly Harman coal products will meet the UL standards.
