I got it out of my bin. Pacowy sent a couple guys over to get the rest. You will have to find out what he does with it. He is remarkably quiet on this. As for me, the tally is 1300 lbs for 13 days burning. Keeping up with the domestic hot water demand. Was able to raise the low end of the driveway with ash. :(

Sorry, have been distracted by other stuff and busy on work. I'll report results as soon as I have them.

What would you normally burn in 13 late summer days?

240-260 lbs. That is more than I burn the coldest days of the year. That is a rough estimate by the way.

Wow, the low priced coal required roughly 500% more to accomplish the same task. No wonder why your ash level was incredibly high. And at half the price it would still wind up costing you 250% more than your regular coal if that percentage continued through a heating season.

At least! Given that a bunch of that is timer cycle, then that means that when it is burning for heat, or call, then it would take much, much more.

Was a great ride on a great day. Got two 5 gal buckets of nut-ish size to sample. Met and talked with Paul. Very nice fellow with over 40 yrs experience in the biz. Real clean, organized set up. Lots of tip top equipment and service shop for it. Its clear to see they are in for the long haul.
The Kodiak is all cleaned and ready for another season. New hopper and gaskets and stove paint on top. Was gonna try a burn but 68 is just a wee warm. maybe tomorrow nite...
I have several pics and a few vids on this I pad, just hafta figure out how to post em  I got the scoop on the operation and am impressed on thier outlook and intentions. They are going after the pillars of coal left from the bygone mining era. they have all the maps and have three current digs going on while also processing all sorts of stone products and aggragate. If this experimental stage proves acceptable they intend to get a full scale breaker and continue after the 1 million tons +

While doing all this they have monthly meetings with the EPA and are proactive in thier approach at "doing the right thing" as far as leaving the land in better shape then the forefathers who mined before. Over 2.5 mill was spent on equiptment last year and its evident things are being done above boards.

I look foward to burning the sample they gave me and will give opinion after doing so. 8-)
