My name is Ben Witmer. I will be the one managing all the online information for Alternate Heating Systems. Just as a little Bio..I started in 1984 right out of High School working for Eshland Enterprises which was the founding Company of Alternate Heating. Along with Jeff Gingerich we ran the retail Hardware store and outlet for retail customers purchasing the Eshland Boiler products. I worked for Eshland untill 1991 at which time I purchased the Hardware store and expanded into Greenhouses, Nursery, and landscaping along with a Handyman Service. In 1992 our newborn son was diagnosed with a rare seizure disorder and passed away in 1998. That sort of took the wind out of my sails for a while and I eventually sold the store in 2001 and went to work in Corporate America. NEVER AGAIN!! Brian Wise, who bought the business from Jeff Gingerich happens to be one of my best childhood friends and brought me on board to take over the Sales Department last April. Praise the Lord, business has been on a steady incline and we have every intention of taking the business to the next level.

Ben,

Welcome to the forum.

It is really nice to have someone from the manufacturer participating here.

Hi Ben,

The Coal Gun is an amazing piece of equipment, no doubt about that!

When the weather warms up a bit I will take the family on a field trip to see the new showroom.

Do you allow 200 lb mastiffs that slobber and eat everything in sight?

except for the puff backs when you don't have sufficient draft...... do a survey and you'll find alot of members had their baro dampers blown off a few times. They work well, or so I was told. Too bad their having a price increase soon, I don't see many of them selling for 8000+.

if your draft is not .04 or better all the time, you'll have problems. Dont get me wrong, they are a SUPER HIGH QUALITY made unit, VERY reliable and heat like no tomorrow from what I have read. I would own one if they were less $$$.
