Just picked up four tons of stove coal from BT Pellet in Bristol, CT.
A few observations of the Lehigh coal:
1 - the stove size is a little smaller than the stove size Kimmels that I have been using
2 - the size is quite uniform
3 - it takes about three times as long to light off as the Kimmels did
4 - my burn times are about 30% longer than with the Kimmels, maybe even longer, as my longest unattended burn so far this year has been 28 hours in the G8
5 - SIGNIFICANTLY less ash than with the stove size Kimmels, nut Kimmels, and nut Blaschek...significantly!
6 - needs a little more under fire air than the Kimmels
Overall, I am happy with the purchase and quality, jest needed a few days to make adjustments and change my habits.

Yes, our coal will definitely take more time to light as it is much lower volatiles. You certainly will need more air for this very reason. Im happy to hear the good report!pyro29 wrote: ↑Tue. Nov. 14, 2017 7:54 amJust picked up four tons of stove coal from BT Pellet in Bristol, CT.

Eastern Shore no, but we do have a few in MD. What town are you in, I can tell you the nearest....Seagrave1963 wrote: ↑Tue. Nov. 14, 2017 9:33 amLehighanthraciteMatt - any distributors in Maryland, specifically the Eastern Shore?

Thank you Matt - I'll check with them but the delivery cost for an 80 mile (one way) run might not make it worthwhile. Thanks again for taking the time to look into it!

Was looking to build a 4-5 ton coal bin if I can locate a supplier within reason. For now, I've been going to TSC in Dover each season and usually have to make a return trip to finish off the season. Generally we use less than 2 tons per year so I was looking to get 2 seasons worth for each load.LehighanthraciteMatt wrote: ↑Tue.
