- Hot Air Coal Stoker Furnace: Hardin Automatic Stoker furnace
- Coal Size/Type: optimal around 1/2 inch
Old Hardin automatic stoker furnace. It has a forced draft blower on it . I am not getting a good chimney draft and will force smoke back into auger and hopper . I am wanting to shorten the chimney and run it out through a wall rather than up to the roof . Will this help with draft problems ?

Have you cleaned your stovepipe? Ash deposits can collect and choke a draft.

About 2 feet above the roof ridge . Chimney is clean. Will be taking it apart to replace the pipe as its a few years old and getting thin. has a heat exchanger that needs work as well . I think I need to install some clean outs on it as I can not access the crossover tubes
