coal sizing for combustioneer

I was wondering if a Combustioneer will run on stove coal.? That's all that is available here and I am considering a Combustioneer. They call it stove coal at the mine but it's pretty small and has fines in it.

Can't really tell exact size in yourpicture but I think combustioneers won't handle anything over 1" -1 1/4"

There are pieces over 1 1/4" so I reckon I'll have to pass.
Depends on the coal, Valier nut is ~2" top size and they seem to feed that ok. I have him grab it from the back of the pile. But, Valier coal is light and soft. Ohio 4 nut is dense and shiny and does not feed well. I would try to grab a couple of buckets and see if it works. Coal size has a lot of impact on feed rate, so if you change you will likely have to dial in the feed and air a lot.

I didn’t get it. I wish I had because this year the bit is even smaller. It looks more like stoker coal to me. I bet it would work.
