Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone might have some information on a wood furnace I just picked up today. In short, it is completely disassembled, missing motors as well as any control that may have been with it at one point. I'd very much like to restore it to working order if possible but I can't seem to get any info on it whatsoever. The information I could get from the main name plate on the furnace itself is:

Coss Htg & Mfg., Inc
Model: 551
SN: 2193
Fuel Type: Wood
Test date: 1980

Additionally, the upper chamber door on the unit says in large cast letters, "EAGLE".

Also - The hopper/feeder system that is with it (which aside of motors appears to be complete, but again disassembled) is a Combustioneer (no more information anywhere on the entire hopper), the stoker unit is a Will-burt S30 (I am unsure if this helps identify anything about the Combusioneer unit).

Anyway, if anybody has any information or if posting pictures may help someone identify it, I would greatly appreciate any help and would happily post pictures at anyone's request. Ideally, any type of assembly information or particularly any information on the original electrical control unit or current replacement would be great. Thanks for reading!

You are going to have to put up some pictures. Even if the guys don't know about your specific brand, someone will know of a look alike brand. Good luck with your project. Lisa

It's not really a wood furnace...it's a Bit. Coal Stoker Stove or Furnace... Hint...change the title to "Will-Burt / Combustioneer help needed"

This should be move to the "Bituminous" section...they talk Combustioneer, Will-Burt, Stokermatic and Firetender over there.

It's an obscure make of stove but you best help is already hanging out over there.

Note:
These can burn only Bit. coal...some have burned wood pellets in them.

Have a look at http://www.peasefeedandcoal.com

Will-Burt S30 Stoker specs:
Models/ Feed Rate/ BTU/Hour/ Boiler HP/ Motor HP/ Hopper Capacity/ Weight
S30/ 30 lbs./ 234,000/ 7.0/ 1/4/ 600/ 360 lbs.
Not for anthracite coal.

Yes, please post some pictures.

Being disassembled will be even better to see what you have there.

Since the tag says WOOD FUEL.....it' was sold as a wood pellet stove. But, it was built around a Will-Burt Stoker w/ Combustioneer Hopper.

Sounds like an excellent soft coal stoker furnace (although you can burn anthracite in soft coal stokers with ease as well). These aren't too common and are really nice to have, they burn relatively cheap soft coal well if tuned and set up properly. Hope you'll put it to use, you'll be glad you did.

This may not be a S-30, but is a Will-Burt none the less.
