Good Evening,

I'm hoping somebody here may have experience importing an antique stove. I will need to file a form with customs which requires a "Harmonized Tariff Code". I have found what I think is the correct code but I'm hoping someone on the forum has "been there done that". Although I expect is will pass duty free as an antique I don't want to choose the incorrect code and pay more than I need in tax.

Another question is the "Country of Origin". Is it where it was manufactured in ~1910 (France), or where it was refurbished (Netherlands)?

7321 , France. Assuming the stove is stamped or stickered “made in france”

I would think "Country of Origin" would refer to the country you are importing from.

Thank you. I believe the closest description is 7321.89.0050 (solid fuel). 7321.11.3010 (stove<70cm wide) is another option. Looking at the "arrival document" the shipper/agent coded it as a 9706.00.00 "Antique >100 years".

I have not seen a "Made in France", but it is clearly labeled "Sougland (Aisne)". The foundry has been in business since 1543 and is still operating.

I found out yesterday that my "number" has been voided by customs. Broker needs my SS card and license (front & back) and it takes 2-6 days to be re-recognized. :shifty: It took me only 6.5 hours to remember where I had placed my SS card not used since 2011. Oh for the good old days when you could talk to/visit the local customs agent in Newport.
