Godin Belle Epoque, Same as a Petit Godin and Voila, Pea Coa

Ok, been a while since I posted. 'Took some time to get to know the Belle whatever, stove.
Stove Coal: Old manual says Stove sized coal is ok. Well bought a Ton, and unless you burn it wide open, you got problems. Either way need to clean out
chamber by lowering the Fire Gate, result is a mess.
Nut Coal: Better but , still you must lower the Fire Gate to Clean out and remove ash. Huge mess but tolerable in far back, non lived in room.
Pea Coal: Thought I had the answer with nut. No way, grate jams up every other cleaning. A real pain in the butt. My good friend Erik said Pea size will work, really thought he was talkin' crazy. Wouldn't the small Pea get jammed in the grate, as the 'experts' suggest? No way, the pea burns to a fine ash and shakes down perfectly. Even unburnt pea is crushed. 'Have not opened fire door in over five days. Pea Compacts nicely giving the small chamber more BTUs. It burns all day, and easy to shake down. No more mess. try it.
Now alot guys on NEPA burn coal in TEMPERATE regions. Sorry, but 350-400 F stove temps will never cut it up here. But one cannot overfire a small stove. I get this. With Pea the stove is operating at peak efficiency.
Based on fire pot-to-coal size- ratio, my large round Godin hates stove size coal, but nut works just fine, like Pea in the smaller Godin.
I am still observing, not anywhere near expert, but at least, after this ongoing Winter, I am adopting, trying to get it right. BTW, all you folk who use the Petit Godin, try a bag or five of Pea, see what you think.
Thanks,
Matt
