- Hand Fed Coal Stove: Godin 3721
Hello, I am new to this forum and coal burning. I have a question about hooking up my 3721 Godin stove which is going in a small uninsulated cabin. I have hooked up many wood stoves but this one has tabs with bolt holes in the flu making me think I need a different set up. I am also wondering if a solid piece of soapstone can be used as a hearth pad. Thanks so much in advance if anyone is familiar with Godin stoves!

Your welcome. The floor question, there are codes to follow if that matters to you. Some people it doesnt. Maybe do a search for floor protection or similar if nobody else has suggestions. Its a time of the year there arent many burners on here.

No, but a search for Crab Orchard , Tennessee stone should show it. Apparently their quarry was famous back in mid century 1950"s. Lot's of public buildings got it as hallway wainscote. That's how I got mine, a local college building from the 50's burned, a stone salvager had some and I had it cut to size.
