Easy way to clean boiler

So, I had a welder stop by today for some work and got talking about creosote that we can get in a boiler due to the wood we throw in. He mentioned that if you throw tin cans in your fire now and again that it gives off a gas that dries out creosote and it flakes off. I tried it and he was right! No scrapping or mess! Thought I’d pass that on.

Well, based on what he said, the gas given off will dry out the creosote which always holds moisture. By having such a hot fire with the coal, the remains will flake off. Since the vase would exit through your pipe, I’d assume it clean the pipes too. Haven’t checked that yet but the chamber was good
