Coal mining program

I watched a show "How do they do it?" on Science channel about how they exploit Lignite in Germany. Using the largest miners in the world, they send lignite directly to the generating station built by the mine.
Lignite appears brown? Flour? There is nothing like Anthracite. The TV show says it's not nearly as old as the Anthracite.
The show is very interesting.

Yes sir, the KRUPP bucket wheel excavators they use are very large track drive machines.
If my memory is correct lignite coal comes from those areas that were originally peat bogs that were covered over 65 million plus years ago as that part of Europe was tropical and eventually under water.
They burn a lot of lignite in the Dakotas for power plant fuel.
