I just found the link about adding videos. I use linux so its the wrong format, MVI. I'll youtube them and add them tonight or tomorrow if I cant convert the videos. I should have loaded them on my old XP pute I guess.

OK, gonna try again. I used a VLC media player converter to convert to MP4, I hope!
Copy/paste from last page... Im adding 3 videos. One is how it acts when igniting. Its like watching sparklers on the 4th of July. One is how it looked 10 hours after loading. And the 3rd is after loading 40 pounds, maybe 30 minutes later. Im opening and closing the bypass as I took the video. It does not smoke up my mica window I added much.

Yes, I like it. Not as much as ant maybe but its fine. It makes a lot of ash, it isnt that fine dust you get with ant. Its light so it must all be burning. I actually used a scale the last 2 days (thats rare!) and I poked 120 pounds thru it each of the last 2 days. it was cold here, a hair above zero in the day and below 0 at night. Windy as heck Monday, a small blizzard. I am only guessing of course (but Im pretty sure) but with my last stove it would have used 50-60 pounds of ant for the same heat each day. So cost wise a little cheaper but not a lot less than ant. i pay 300/ton for ant.
I still havent actually filled it to the top of the firebrick and unsure I need too. I put about 10 pounds of small stuff I kept in pails into a plastic bag and throw it on top of the big pieces when loading. It slows it down at first but that spot is still real red when reloading. I'll probably get one more load of it this winter for the cold nights and along with wood I have, and run my Chubby until spring at 20 pounds a day, using the Riteway when that cant keep up at that feed rate... which will be most of january and some of February and March I imagine. More to do with wind than temps here. Those heat degree days thing may be a decent guideline but dont mean much if you live where its windy any time someone farts 100 miles away.

Soft coal you usually use both over and under air. im not seeing as much good with over fire air burning this compared to others I have burned. With ant you can use over fire air for a short while after loading to burn off the volatiles but once its going shut the vents...
The stove Im using has a burn chamber with preheated over fire air to burn off volatiles on the outlet side of the stove so Im going to forget about other over fire air with it unless burning wood.
