We have gotten 97" of snow so far in December and will easily set a new seasonal total.

Our usual amount is about 100" a year.

I am about 25 miles east of Erie and on the ridge above lake Erie so we catch a lot of snow.

The temperature has also been the teens and lower so the heat demand has been higher

than usual,so I've been only able to go 8 hours between shake downs, from my normal

12 hour schedule. How long do other members go when a low temp/high wind period

gets our usage up?

Before we had the house insulated, we were like you and when the temperatures were 10 or 20 below, or if the wind blew a lot, 8 hours was a good tending period. With the magic insulation, it doesn't matter much about the wind, and 12 hours is still good. I was really surprised about the wind. I guess it really DID blow right through the house. :o

Just watched all that on the NEWS B--pretty outlandish to say the least!! Be safe my friend. Don't kow what kind of stove you've got--but My 50-93 with hopper (anthracite) stays at a 12 hr interval no matter wind or temp--hopper might be lower but that's OK--still use 40-60 lbs daily.

I’m finally getting around 6-7 hours but have only been burning bit for about 2 weeks. I can’t wait to see 12 hours. Stay warm with all that snow up there I sure do hate that stuff.

wow. i have friends in Erie saying they got anywhere from 43"-60". We're about 90 miles east of Erie, just on the bottom end of the Lake Effect, so we only have about 8" or so here. North of us about 20 miles got 2-3 Feet also. Crazy Lake Effect !!

Now they say we have 102" in this storm.

Broke the records for snowfall in many categories.

Now the wind is shifting to colder temps.

Have to keep the fires going.

Well Linda's bro should not complain, Governor Wolf went all out. He sent a whole 21 troops to Erie.
