Picked up 3/4 ton of slightly larger than stoker sized washed and sorted coal from Knight Hawk Coal’s Prairie Eagle Mine. $80 / ton Looks great so far, burning well, they'll even provide you a spec sheet of the coal coming out of the ground that day!

Picked up 5 ton from Vailer coal yard last week. $100/ ton. Got Lump size.
It's a nice place, coal sorted very well, very clean. Loaded me within 20lb of what I asked for. Lump coal was on the small side from what I've got other places but impressively evenly sized. And next to no fines.
Been burning since Monday. Outdoor boiler. It's burning quite clean IMO. Strong smell but little smoke compared to some I've used. Still learning the best loading procedure for it. I feel like I'm burning more than typical for these temps but I still need to get the loading procedure down and see how it goes. Also make some tweaks to the boiler controls. I think I need to shorten up the temp band so it fires more often for shorter durations.

Newbie here. I live in S/W Virginia in the tristate area near Kingsport,Tennessee. I’m trying to find a reasonable supplier of bituminous coal. The prices seems to be around 150/ ton. Is this reasonable? Right now I’m burning antrocite nut coal from tractor supply. Burns nice but seems expensive. Thanks for any leads.

Just picked up bit at fisher mine off of route 287 in lycoming county.. 110 a ton clean nut to baseball size.. Appears to be good quality coal.
570-322-4717 is there office number for a few of their locations.

Recently purchased a DS 15 Anthramax. We live here in Central Montana. About 4 hours south of our home near Decker, MT is a processing plant called Wolf Mountain Coal. The only type available is Bituminous. They sell by the ton = $55.55 per. I thought, "This is GREAT". Not so fast Pard
. They coat it with recycled oil from your last vehicle oil change. Because of my naive thinking, uninformed to say the least, we tried using that coal. Big mistake! Bituminous works OK, but the oil.......YUCK!
Now we have a Gazillion tons of Bit here in Montana and northern Wyoming and that good. But until I test out Bit (pea size) without the stinkin oil we're thinking of have Anthracite shipped out here from Lehigh Coal in PA. Comments would be appreciated.

Bit can be like burning old tires even without used engine oil coating.
A call to Lehigh would be a good first step before a lot of guessing.

I have 3000 lbs. of nut from Cobra Mine in two super sacks for sale.
I have half a day travel east to get the super sacks and half day travel west to get the coal and put it in the sacks.
Offers?
I sold my new new Warm Morning stove to a guy in Freeland, PA.

We get our Bituminous from Wolf Mountain Coal in Decker, MT north or Sheridan, WY. Oiled or not oiled for $55.50 per ton. It's the size they call Pea Coal. I think that size some people call stoker coal. We tried using the treated (oiled) coal and never again. Stink to high heaven. The untreated works fantastic. We can't get Anthracite Coal out here.
