They have stocker and lump. The lump is very large, average probably 6" cubes, some 9" or bigger.

I live near Boston, Mass. I need to find a supplier of Bituminous coal as we don't have any place to buy it for one reason or another. Plenty of hard coal but I want the good stuff, steam locomotive grade,, the stuff that goes in the big pot belly stoves that used to heat the passenger cars, the roundhouse, the freight house. Hardware stores & local heating fuel suppliers just sell hard coal & pea size Bituminous for blacksmithing . I tried some and it all melted together, I want Bituminous, at least a ton for starters, it does not need to be bagged. Must be some places in the Scranton, Penn area. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks.

I doubt you'll find too much bituminous coal for sale in Scranton. I like my bituminous but I don't know if there's too many places in the state of Massachusetts I'd be burning it especially in a hand fired.

What you would need is low coke button lump or egg and they close the sources of that that I know of to you would be valier coal yard in valier Pennsylvania or Thompson brothers mining in new Springfield Ohio

Mass, as most of the northeast, has limits on sulfer content of heating fuels. That's why bituminous isn't sold there, no supplier can meet the regulation with any bituminous.

I have another feeler out on another website about where I can purchase good Pennsylvania Bituminous Coal & bring it back to Mass where I live. Don't care about the stupid clean air B/S. President Trump is constantly working to undo piles of tangled regulations that are hamstringing efforts to get coal mines open again & re-start closed coal burning power plants.
All these environmental do-gooders running around spouting off that the end of the world is coming if we burn coal again, go tell that to China & India. Changing laws & reversing many of Obama's " War on Coal " regulations take time to undo. Dirty coal can be cleaned & burnt efficiently if the right equipment is installed at the power plants.
I wrote down a list of many of the locations in Pennsylvania that I can purchase a pick up truck load of Bituminous and drive it home. I don't care if my neighbors don't care for the smell of my coal burning. They drive me nuts with racing cars, dirt bikes, loud radios playing at night and on and on. Too damn bad they have to sniff a little soft coal smoke.Three of my neighbors burn their trash outside in a fire pit, with the garbage mixed into the mess, another neighbor clearing land & burning poison Ivy & Sumac trees out behind his property, that stuff will blister your lungs if you breath it.
There are pros & cons to everything, moderation is the key. I voted for Trump..... get the miners back to work, re-open the power plants, export coal to other countries. I don't give a hoot about global warming, IT'S MORE FAKE REPORTING, that's all. The mining company I really want to buy coal from hopefully will have some huge slabs that I can break up later into sizes I need.

If I'm not mistaken, the regulation prevents the sale of bituminous in the states. Not that you can't burn it if you have it.

There is no federal law against burning bituminous. Maybe a state law somewhere. But nothing more. If bit was illegal to burn every mine but outside of NE Pennsylvania would be closed.

Where do I buy coal in Southeast TN, I live in Dayton, Tn, 37321. I pref. Anthracite, but.....
