Farmers generally have enough to keep them busy, so I imagine if they are using their time to spread coal fines there must be a real benefit. I wonder if carbon neutralizes acid rain. Where's my old high school chemistry book?

Following an internet tip, I tried mixing the fines with water & corn starch. It kinda worked, kinda made a mess. I poured it into a plastic tub where it took over a week to dry into a block that broke in 2. I'll try burning it this winter.
