It's not so much about savings but independence. What happens when another decrepit, neglected gas pipeline explodes and cuts off gas supply for a week or two? Another Katrina comes along?Sting wrote:I don't know why I am anguishing about this any further
If a cost per them of NG is about a buck -- by the time I get 10 ton on my yard Ill have 100 to 120 a ton invested - with my new reduced load that's about 100 bucks in the worst month savings
I don't care if I don't save a penny. I'm not going to put any trust whatsoever in the ass-clowns that are running our government nor any of our energy corporations. They are only interested in one thing - money (and themselves). I'll never pay back my system installation until the day I drop dead, but I don't care. I enjoy it as a "hobby" and as an example of the can-do DIY spirit that this country was founded upon. Furthermore, when the fit hits the shan (and it will, by God, oh yes, it will) I'll enjoy giving the to The Man and sending my money to a hard workin' Joe digging my coal out of the Illinois ground - one of the few things this corrupt state has going for it. The bleeding heart pinko commie liberals and their ethanol programs and other useless B.S. can jam a clinker up their ass.
North Grindstone is mined out. Springfield Coal's Crown III mine is also shut down, last load I got they told me materials have arrived to seal the mine, not good.. There is another seam just south of Industry but no one is mining it. It was to be trucked to the North Grindstone prep plant but plans fell through.
