Currently using a KA2 boiler for radiant floor heat and DHW all year.
If I wanted to switch to a NG boiler would anyone have a recommendation?
Thanks!

By coincidence i offer a similar named k2 condensing boiler by us boiler or other condensing boiler with outdoor reset temperature control . I have a alpine boiler but it looks as though the k2 has everything to deal with radiant heat especially a outdoor reset water temp control based on out door air temperature .

What temperature do you run in the radiant system? Is the house 100% radiant?

The water temp going out to the floors is about 130F. The whole house is radiant.

With water temperatures that low you would be best served by a condensing boiler.

I was thinking more of a "regular " boiler. I start looking at Weil-Mclain. I will need to figure out the differences between similar output boilers.

Condensing boilers have the opportunity to reach nearly 100% efficiency when the working temperature is below condensation, this is what they are designed for. If I understand it correctly they have "regular" and "condensing" mode so its a win-win, not like if you just buy a "regular" boiler in which case you don't have condensing mode. Rob can correct me on that

What fuel sources are available to you?

Weil-Mclain actually offers a cast iron boiler that is kind of a hybrid. It can handle low temperature water and can be direct vented. A friend of mine put one in a few years ago because he wasn't a fan of the new wall hung units. He said he has been a good performer.

if you change your mind but do not overused the boiler make sure you have the load for it as it performs as advertised.

Did you mean undersize? Not sure if autocorrect got you or if I'm still not caffeinated yet.

over size is what i meant i

Instead of running consistently and continuously, your oversized boiler will run for short periods of time and use more energy than you need. This 'on and off' nature of oversized boilers can result in it deteriorating more quickly.
