At 400 degrees internal flue gas temperature at the breech I'll see 270 about 12 inches downstream on the topside of the pipe measured with an IR gun. That's with my Axeman.

I've got one of those shitty magnetic thermometers right on the chimney pipe where it exits the boiler. The baro is right there, so that's about the only place I can get a real reading.
