Hey guys,
Started pulling the burn pot apart today and looks like I will need a new gooseneck casting but what do you think about the grates? Not sure what the bottom is supposed to look like. They kind of look ok, but I did chip some rust off so not sure if it was part of the mating surface or the grate itself. Also need a new ring to lock them together. I looked back through some old posts and found most of the part numbers, but does anyone have a parts manual for these things so it’s all in one place. Is the gasket material anything special or will regular stove gasket/rope work.

Thanks Image[/img]

I believe that broken ring goes around the bottom of the grates, where they're closest together. Mine had a thick wire wrapped around that in place of that ring.

There should be a lip to hold the gasket and grates in place. Here is a picture of a new one.

I just redid one myself. You'll have to replace the entire gooseneck portion of the pot. I bought an entire 2nd stoker on facebook solely for the gooseneck for $250. My ring was gone too. That piece new at marks is over $500. you can get a ring made and try to solder/braze it in place or furnace cement it in place. In my opinion not worth it esp if you are redoing the entire thing. Do it once do it right why risk a breakdown over that. The homemade ring can move out of place and result in coal getting under grates. Which in turn could melt them and melt your aluminum worm tube. That is a place where there is motion so i think efm made it a solid piece for a reason
