Bad Thermostat?
This morning I was checking the boiler,KA2, and I notice that the circulator for our main zone was not running. So I had my wife adjust the thermostat while watched the relay. Nothing even advancing the stat all the way up. So I put a jumper on in the panel.
So I do I determine if the thermostat is bad?

If the zone worked when you added the jumper, either your thermostat is bad or the wiring to the thermostat is bad...

Also be aware some thermostats like the Honeywell white round ones have a short cycle protection feature depending on which type of fuel setting you have the switches set for. This drove me nuts at our apartment because once the temp was met, if you were still chilly and tried to turn it up a freckle you had to wait ten minutes or so till it would finish its cycle. Digital thermostats are not to my liking, my house takes too long to recover from setbacks anyway so I just set and forget the ol mercury style treats me fine!

Mine was acting up too (digital), batteries were getting low, changed batteries, then when I went to clip it back on to the base, it didn't latch correctly and make contact with the front cover and stove only went to idle, thermostat said 65 but was only 55. I finally figured got it electronics section clipped onto the base and seems to be holding good temp now.
