Ok so been running the new 520 for about 2 weeks and just noticed when thermostat calls for heat boiler turns on and runs instantly is this normal? I don’t remember my last boiler doing this till water temp was under temp? Or is something g wired wrong?

It’s typical to setup them that way, the boiler is firing so it doesn’t fall behind during a heat call. This is especially important for slow ramp up fires like coal.

Yep, that's exactly how a triple aquastat works when the TT terminal is connected to a thermostat ( or end switch if using a Taco SR type control). A simple on off aquastat would work like your old one.

Ok so that’s fine then to let it stay that way?

Yes... The majority of boilers use a triple aquastat. What's your high limit and low limit? A good starting point for an EFM is 200 HL, 160 LL with a differential of 10.

It is not a problem, but depending on the rest of your setup it might result in the boiler always running at the high limit. Just keep an eye on it and see how it behaves.
