Ancient timer. Stoker running very long. Longer than usual.

Have you timed the timer a full revolution to be sure it isn't sticking when the pins close the switch? My plastic gears stripped out and caused it to act funky

Ancient indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best bet would be get a non-ancient timer--Hope that helps---:)

Your hold fire is started 3 times per hour to maintain a fire. you may not notice it running all the time as the furnace is running on heat calls. If you place a thick pencil mark on the clock face at zero position and it has not moved after 20 minutes the timer motor is shot. You have one timer pin that is out of place and needs to be put back in the corresponding slot.

You may just need a new timer motor for it, they are easy to change as long as the directions are followed.

no I have not. I may just get rid of the whole timing there now

That makes sense. I’m gnna give that a go. To the fella w the new timer keep ahold plz
