- Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood
Lets find out.
Over the past 7 days;
Fan reading, 3067.9 - 3025.8 = 42.1 hours of fan run time, 6.01 hours per day.
Ash reading, 1769.1 - 1743.0 = 26.1 hours of ashing, 3.73 hours per day, 62% of fan run time. Well, fan run time is actually 0.2 hours more than last week
The amount of ash in the pans is noticeably less this week though. Guess I'll never figure this things out. Gofer Action. Last weekend I moved some stuff around and now I am able to fit the Crown Victoria in the garage! It's a bit tight, but its all in there! Current settings,
Fan RPM = 1635 RPM (Stock AHS is 1725 RPM)
Auger speed = 4.31 RPM (Stock is 8.05 RPM)
Grate cycles per hour = 10.35-ish (2 teeth on the ashing gear)
Aquastat = 175*F (Inkbird), ON/OFF, Hysteresis = 5*
Anthrastat = 130*F (Inkbird), Hysteresis = 0.3*
Low flue temperature cut off = 160*F, Hysteresis = 0.1*

Another 7 days goes by...
Fan reading, 3105.1 - 3067.9 = 37.2 hours of fan run time, 5.31 hours per day.
Ash reading, 1792.8 - 1769.1 = 23.7 hours of ashing, 3.39 hours per day, 64% of fan run time. Ash. The Gofer is still having a good time in there. Current settings,
Fan RPM = 1635 RPM (Stock AHS is 1725 RPM)
Auger speed = 4.31 RPM (Stock is 8.05 RPM)
Grate cycles per hour = 10.35-ish (2 teeth on the ashing gear)

Don, its looking like the gopher may need to be fed soon. I just put the barrel in my bin this weekend. I didn't feel like running up to sherman to get more coal yet.

A number 1 square pan is what fits in there. I bent a couple number 2 pans so they fit. I found an old video where I described the ashpans.Retro_Origin wrote: ↑Sun. This was 5 years ago and I am still using the same pans.

7 more days of Axeman Goodness!
Fan reading, 3191.8 - 3148.0 = 43.8 hours of fan run time, 6.26 hours per day.
Ash reading, 1842.5 - 1816.7 = 25.8 hours of ashing, 3.69 hours per day, 59% of fan run time. I forgot to swap ashpans on Wednesday night. I didn't remember til Friday night!
The pan didn't over flow so we must be close to 1 ashpan a week season. Gofer action.

Don you need to install a laser that adds a value to a counter every time it's beam is broken, then install it in the transfer head to count everytime a piece of coal falls

7 more days.
Fan reading, 3274.8 - 3236.0 = 38.8 hours of fan run time, 5.54 hours per day.
Ash reading, 1885.8 - 1865.4 = 20.4 hours of ashing, 2.91 hours per day, 53% of fan run time. I know there's coal in there somewhere! The fan run time is about an hour less per day now than it was in January. Ashpans are not near full. Soon we will be in 1 ashpan per week season. Current settings,
Fan RPM = 1635 RPM (Stock AHS is 1725 RPM)
