Anyone else not light yet? I was close to starting the boiler in October but held off and i have not needed it yet. I do appreciate this weather so far. Looks like next weekend i will need to start for the season. Im usually lit around 10/18 for the last 4years or so.

I got tired of having a cold office and fired the boiler up the night before Halloween. If not for the cold work area I could have held off a few more weeks.

My house gets to about 64* over night and then will rise to about 70* during the day. Once we have consistent sub 60* days i will need to start, which looks like next weekend maybe

Still no fire here, looks like another warm week ahead hope it stays like this all winter. I’m total electric here the bill just came $200 with heat pump running some. West Penn power charges what they want lol nothing ever changes here and yet in summer with ac running it can be $230 the next month $180 sometimes even $140/$160, no consistency whatsoever 😳 The smart meter must be real smart!

Looks like Saturday evening will be the first light of the season. Highs in the 40s, lows in 20s/30s for the foreseeable future. Heating season has arrived.

I ended up starting Sunday after church. The blaschak is a different animal this year than the Lehigh was in previous years. Easy to light and it holds a fire great, maybe too good? Ive hit my dump zone 2 or three times already. Decreased the air as much as possible and will hold draft at .01-.03. Dropped the feed rate but that just moved the fire back toward the hopper. Also dropped the number of pins to 2 @ 0, 10 &20min. Maybe drop back to 1 pin each?

Lit the stove today. About a week earlier than I planned but the weather took a turn for the worse this week.
