Aluminum oxide or glass bead? Want to use small sand blaster to clean neglected inside of boiler walls and surfaces.
or
Thinking of getting this little blaster to pair with my pancake compressor
https://www.harborfreight.com/portable-abrasive-b ... 37025.html
Thoughts?
My big compressor is at the garage. If this little one will be enough to get by in the boiler, I'll use it.
If not, I do have a horizontal 220V Sears I can move up to the basement to use, just not as convenient.
Sandblasting media for inside boiler?

The pancake probably doesn't have enough cfm to run it. Blasting uses a larger volume of air. An air dryer would help as well.

I'm hoping that 1/2 psi = close to 2x flow. I'm okay with pauseswaytomany?s wrote: ↑Sun. Oct. 16, 2022 2:55 pmThe pancake probably doesn't have enough cfm to run it. Blasting uses a larger volume of air. An air dryer would help as well.

If you don't have an air mask for under your hood you should consider renting a
dry ice sand blaster as the dry ice pellets evaporate and the only thing that is left
is the debris you blasted with the dry ice pellets.
The small dry ice sand blasters are self contained with a crushed ice hopper and
they have an onboard air compressor.

Technically, and I'm saying most manufacturers want it to stop running 3 times as long as it ran. Nobody does that of course but you can burn it up in a short period of time. Now I'm not saying I wouldn't do it either, just be aware is my point.CoalisCoolxWarm wrote: ↑Sun. Oct. 16, 2022 3:43 pmI'm hoping that 1/2 psi = close to 2x flow. I'm okay with pauses

I have used similar unit, and believe you will need bigger then pancake. My 30 gal old sears horizontal does 6 cfm at 80psi, and can just do the job. I have used sand on my old cast radiators and old farm stuff.
