When we go away for a prolonged trip I vac my KA2 spray with Fluid Film and put a light bulb inside. We are usually gone for 5-6 weeks. But everytime I return the bulb is burned out. No telling how long it is lasting. But I was wonder if anyone has a suggestion?
Thanks!

Use a rough service bulb, or a reptile heater.

If you are using a heavy duty work light you should be using a rough service incandescent bulb if you invest in a torx or other brand high quality electric timer you can set it to operate 16 hours a day and then go from there.

Depending on the brand of bulb you buy they will last 1,000-1,500 hours, buying them from a local electrical supply warehouse will assure that you are buying a good bulb.

So if your gone for 42 days you could set the timer to run 12 hours a day for 480 hours and go from there.

Investing in a commercial hard wired timer would be a good thing for this situation.

A cheap plug-in lamp timer works fine also. I have been using one for years with a 100 watt heat lamp. It runs from roughly 12 am to 8 am, which is our "night rate" period and is plenty to keep the boiler slightly warmer than ambient and dry inside.

Thanks! Never thought about a heavy duty bulb or a timer.

Light bulb…130volt rough service. The 130volt will last very long since it actually operates at 115-120volts. Rough service has extra supports for holding the fragile filament to take shock from banging around as in a hand or hanging working light. And there’s your lesson of the day. LOL
Light bulb doesn’t have a fan nor thermostat though.

But…might like better since more so built for the task at hand… a small PTC or ceramic fan heater w/ thermostat control. Like used for in office cubicle for keeping feet warm.
Can find a 500watt or a Two Heat Mode 1500W/750W. Thermostat is key!!

Thermostat allows for a set temperature and so cycles as needed. Set it and forget it! 😁
