What do you think?? I mean I could weigh it for exact usage but from the pic what do you gather?

Stoker Coal Boiler: Gentleman Janitor GJ-5, Van Wert VA-600, Axeman Anderson130 X3.
Hand Fed Coal Furnace: Harman SF3500 reduced down to 3 grates connected to its own plenum
Coal Size/Type: Rice, Chestnut and whatever will fit through the door on the Harman
Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood

Looks a lot like mine. I have some small clinkers and a little more fine dust though. But this is a full week worth of ash.

I would bet most of those black rocks in your ash are actually very light. If they are that means they are partly burnt, not just raw coal.

I can see Dr Don with the tweezers and the magnifying glass inspecting his ash, haha seriously though Don you've posted a plethera of tests and trials that have been a great source of help!

I just fired up my s260, with 125 ash temp, 5deg hysteresis, water temp 185. After 4 days burning about 65lbs coal per day. Looks like i gotta make some big changes.
