My 520 seems to only be burning in half the pot. I inspected the grates and the holes are open and not any warping that I can see. Settings are 4 teeth and 4.5 air. The half that won't burn is nearest to the air intake.

Check that the fines are not backed up. Pull the fines lever open, tie it back, then check from the bottom of the pot with a finger or brush. Scott

Check the bin auger pipe. I had the same issue 4 years ago. My pipe was rusted back and was exposing more of the auger. I have mine at 2.5 flights

There are a few things that can cause this.

1) To much fines in the coal.
2) Worn out augers, pipes, pot bushing causing grinding and crushing of the coal. This will create a lot of fines and eventually put the fire out.
3) Fines build up in the air chamber.
4) Fines trap door not completely closing. This will greatly reduce the combustion air making a lazy fire.
