I added pictures of the All Canadian Coal Fireed Heaters.
The design is the same for all six models.
Their smallest model is the NAC20 which is 30 inches in diameter
and 114 inches tall with an 8 inch flue and has a 500,000 BTU rating.
It is rated by them to heat 16,000 square feet and it has 2 inch NPT tappings.
The water flow design for all 6 models uses the top tapping to let the water
rise to a steel compression tank or bladder tank to create the point
of no pressure change. I don't know what the water volume is for the NAC20.

- Hand Fed Coal Furnace: Harman SF3500 reduced down to 3 grates connected to its own plenum
- Coal Size/Type: Rice, Chestnut and whatever will fit through the door on the Harman
- Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood
I don't know but, some of the Keystoker guys post some really good fuel economy numbers so they ain't bad!
Neat stuff but, I don't see what a foreign made, very expensive, Bituminous coal burning boiler has to do with getting a heavy duty, Pennsylvania built, Anthracite burning boiler for next to no money?
The purpose of this thread is to make people that don't have a lot of money aware that they can find a good, used, Anthracite burning boiler for little to no money. -Don

Intersting, orwgisburg is where the keystoker 'factory' is. I wonder if they started out together and split or something since the design is so similar.

Not really, the Keystoker factory is in Schuylkill Haven. Orwigsburg is 2 miles East on RT443. Orwigsburg was the home of BairMatic Corp. and Yellow Flame (Southern Schuylkill Manufacturing Corp.). Given the close proximity of these manufacturers there was probably and lot of crosspollination of workers and ideas.Retro_Origin wrote: ↑Sat. The Yuengling plant is in Port Carbon, but has a Pottsville address...but it was started in Pottsville...but they make it in Port Carbon...which is kind of still Pottsville...these towns mush together a lot. The Keystoker plant is clos-er to haven and has a haven address but it's still in the 'no man's land zone' inbetween I thought maybe it was considered Orwigsburg at one time.StokerDon wrote: ↑Sat. Mis-wired or settings are off.
Did the aquastat shut it down and then it coasted on up to the 220*F?
Do you have a “dump zone” wired in?
Is the pressure fairly steady from cold start through the run up? At 30psi the pressure relief valve will begin to open and possibly flash steam out. Proper expansion tank size “should” contain modest over-temps. After that you’d better have a “dump zone” wired in.
