Run power for ashing system after fan control.

Are you saying that your ashing motor currently can run when the fan is not running? If so, something ain't right.
Your ashing motor should be controlled by the temperature controller in the electrical box. The Hot wire going to the temperature controller should come from the same Hot that runs the fan motor. This will only allow the ashing motor to run when the fan motor is running.
Do you have a wiring diagram for your unit?

if not next free day going to take black wire off grate switch and feed from blue that runs to fan.

Your drawing is dated 01-03-06. It's interesting that it doesn't show a boiler control aquastat, just the high limit aquastat. It seems to me that AHS has done a lot of wiring changes over the years.
Anyway, connecting terminal 11 on the temperature controller to the Blue wire going to the fan should keep the ashing motor from running when the fan is not.

My coalgun will continue to ash after the fan stops, it only happens rarely..usually in the spring and generally results in some puffbacks.
I believe thats how it came from the factory.

You might want to look into that. I'm not an AHS expert but I'm pretty sure nothing good will happen if the unit ashes when the fan is not running.lamina1982 wrote: ↑Sun. Ya ive always wondered why as i know a version was made that there was toggle switch to select so it would only ash when fan was on. Usually it doesn't go very long after fan stops..prob 30 seconds max. But has made some very loud puffbacks in the past. Ill have to ask ahs again.

But Lee, for his puff backs he said ashing continues after fan run…dumping raw coal on a banked fire. That’s a problem!!
