I'M BACK BABY!!!

Two and a half weeks of internet outage finally ended this afternoon.

My normal internet provider has been unavailable for comment for 2 weeks now so I suspect they may be going Belly Up. I went to the AT&T store today and picked up the cheapest phone they had and made it into a WiFi Hot Spot. So far, it actually works slightly better than what I had. I tested it at 31.3 MB upload and 5.8 MB download. Not bad at all! :D

In the mean time, our very own Hambden Bob and his wing man Donny made the long trek down from northern Ohio to pick up my beloved Old White Chevy One Ton Pickup Truck.

CoalKirk stopped by while they were here just to see if the Hambden Bob did actually exist! He wasn't disappointed. :what:

We all had a good time and had a lot to talk about. Its great to type back and forth but Its just better talking to coal forum folks in person.

SO that leaves me with the V8 powered 944, the GMC Truck and the Awesome running Ford Crown Victoria. Its nice to only have 3 vehicles to worry about.

The Van Wert is still chugging along with no problems.

Glad you are back, and nice to see that the truck stayed within the coal burning circle.

You might wanna refrain from uploading YouTube videos until you get another ISP.. Last I knew, even the "unlimited data" plans have a cap at which point they slow WAY down but not off. Hence, they get away with calling it unlimited..

That's the real unknown quantity right now. This plan is 40 Gig per month. Its been a very long time since I had a data limit. I have no idea how much I will use in a month. I guess we're gunna find out though.

If my original ISP goes under, we will be stuck with this Hot Spot thing. The only other options we have are Verizon DSL and Satellite, I'm not going back to either on of those! :x

40 gig is a lot of data.. unless your streaming TV/video with it everyday.

I just figured out how to check my data use on the phone, it's not good. It says I used 6.4GB in 2 days. I have no idea How I used that much data in 2 days, I only turn the Hot Spot on when I go on the internet and I don't use the phone for anything else.

Maybe I should shut the phone off when I'm not using it?

What kind of activity are you doing on the internet? YouTube? Connecting it to your TV? Music?

Just the forum, Youtube, and looking at a few things like maps. Not much else.
