So a crazy idea!
We are wanting to try our hand at dehydrating apples. Has anyone used the heat off the top of the boiler to dehydrate food?

No, but I did try to convince my wife to try it. It dehydrated my shoes pretty well...shrivled up like dried fruit.

If you can duplicate the temps and humidity of a dehydrator I would think it would work fine. Theres only one way to find out!
edit, possibly air flow too.

Using water to dry and dehydrate. I like it.
