I'm pretty sure the 260 has the same auger as the 130 it just spins a little faster.. but somebody should verify.

The 260 is different than the 130 support rollers ars located along with the drive sprocket.

This post reminded me of another post. Also it reminded me to check my auger. Materials are on their way to eliminate the auger tube from being the wearable part. I still don’t understand it. Why would you have a carbon steel tube ride on a hardened bearing surface?

I bet he is going with the plastic rollers they use on conveyor systems. It was talked about in a thread a year or two ago. It should work because it solves the problem of the auger tube being the part that wares out.

Maybe... I dunno.. there's a great deal of pressure per surface area there. Pretty much the entire tube weight plus it being full of coal.

Plastic conveyor rollers can take the weight of the whole boiler, auger and a few hundred pounds of coal with no problem. They ain't cheap though.

I can say for sure plastic rollers will not hold up

I’m gonna try a type of urethane with smaller bearings inside like a skateboard wheel or roller skate. I can’t imagine the auger tube with coal being more than 200lbs. I think it’s worth trying. It’ll be a week till I have them done and on. It’s worth a try for how cheaply I can make them. The materials, bearings urethane rod bolts metal for the spacers time aside I can make them for about 6$ a piece.

In the event modified rollers don’t work I’m gonna take the auger to work and have the wear area welded with stellite and turn it on the lath. My wear grove seems to grow about 1/32 in depth per year. Idk what’s typical for the aa130 burning 6-7 ton a year but at this rate it’s a matter of time before it cuts through and I’m planning on burning coal till I can’t lift the ash pan. I’m 40 so hopefully a long time.
