I was wondering if anyone would have an idea why my gearbox is leaking out of the top? It is the gearbox for ashing. I do not see OHIO so im thinking it is some other brand. I filled the gearbox with the exact amount it said in instructions at the beginning of the season so this thing has ran all winter without a leak, so i dont think i overfilled it! It is now leaking from what appears to be a pressure cap on the top of it. Anyone ever have this happen>? Thanks coal gurus!

If it's leaking out of the top it is probably overfilled. Is the top vented?

Yes the top is vented. Just strange for it to leak now? After it ran for 6 months without a leak though...

I guess I’m the only one that may have this issue? I know it’s a slow time of year for answers though!

First time I have heard of it. Can you post a picture of the gearbox?

It is the Euclid gear box that you have. I have one. Mine did the same thing for a few weeks. It is working as it should with no problems.

Yes it’s a Euclid gearbox. I was talking with some tractor guys. They said it’s Normal for their gearbox’s to spit oil out also, in the spring because of temperature fluctuations.

I would remove the vent and clean it.
