I need a replacement for my honeywell r883b the timer quit working I came home and my fire was almost out I checked it and the timer no longer runs. I am looking for a replacement this specific timer box has power in and thermostat in and then power out. The thermostat wires will over ride the time but the timer will run it it keep the fire I believe it is set for 3.5 min every hr. Please help me find a proper replacement for this. Thanks!

The only direct replacement I am aware of is made by Wilburt, and it is very expensive.
I would replace it with a solid state timer and use a fan center relay for the thermostat.

This sounds like a good plan. Do you think it would be possible for you to maybe get some part numbers so I would know exactly what to get? And how to wire them up I'm sure I can figure it out but I would rather be sure!

I have one single thermostat. In simple terms I guess what I would need is a switch that would be powered by the thermostat and then an hourly timer that I could set for idle run to keep the fire.

I would check to see if you can use an Intermatic 60 minute timer before you do anything else.
Take the timer cover with you to your local electrical supply shop and make sure you have a picture of the current timer wiring they can look at to be sure they can get you the right one.

The second set of thermostat wires look like they go onto the back of the stoker maybe a temperature sensor of some sort it is an allen stoker unit setup for steam

I looked into one of your older posts about the GAEYAELE GRT8-S1 timer, I'm going to buy one of these and set it up for the time end of it now I just need to find a switch to hook up to the thermostat so when it calls for heat it will come on. Any recommendations on one of these?

That is what I was going to suggest for a timer. You can probably mount in your existing enclosure. As for the relays to work with your thermostat, you can wire up a 24v transformer and use a small relay in a box, or you can buy both in a package.Idlorah wrote: ↑Mon. Option 1:

Option 2:

You can add a 3rd pair of thermostat wires that goes to the NO contacts on the timer. That way all the timer does is trigger the other switch and start the stoker. (the alterative is you wire 120v through the NO contacts on the timer)
