Replacing fan, shaft and bearings on AA130

- Stoker Coal Boiler: Gentleman Janitor GJ-5, Van Wert VA-600, Axeman Anderson130 X3.
- Hand Fed Coal Furnace: Harman SF3500 reduced down to 3 grates connected to its own plenum
- Coal Size/Type: Rice, Chestnut and whatever will fit through the door on the Harman
- Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood
Make sure you measure the amount the the shaft sticks out either end before you take it apart.
When you press it back together make sure you have the same amount of shaft sticking out as what you started with.

This one has about 3, 3/8th" on the fan side.
And 2, 1/8th" on the pulley side.
Once you get the fan off, loosen the setscrews on the oil slingers.
Then loosen the setscrews on the end pieces.
Then you should be able to press the shaft out.When you press it back together make sure you have the same amount of shaft sticking out as what you started with.

I have always used a synthetic oil for this bearing box never have had any problem oil wont break down with the heat.

Best to call Pete Axeman and get the clearance for the fan before securing the shaft to the collars. Dont recall the exact number but believe you push the fan and shaft in until it hits and back it out an 1/8" for clearance. Too deep it will hit at times, too far back and it loses efficiency.
