I think it is really odd that the auger is worn at the coupler end rather than the pot end. oh well, if you can replace the last couple flights you should be good.
This might be one of those cases where they left a 3 or 4 inch gap between the feed pipe and the bin pipe at the pipe coupler.

That would do it.

That makes sense but I dont recall if the pipes were tight together or had a gap.

I'll take a look at the inside of the coupling tomorrow.

I bought this one for the shop and a friend of mine has a square door that he might sell me.

Problem with that one is its in the basement with no outside entrance. Has to come up quite a few steps and out thru the hall and living room or maybe the kitchen.

Not sure where I want to install it yet. I may relocate the electric service and add a little addition between the metal building and the old office/ waiting room. That would be pretty well central and all I have to do is add a chimney.

I installed an 8" duct fan at home in the stoker room with a cold air return to heat the greenhouse. That does the job and it keeps the greenhouse at 60*

You can't use either of the existing chimneys for the EFM?

I would prefer to keep the chimney in the stove shop work area available for test burning my newly acquired and some of the restored stoves. The Glenwood #8 that's connected to it now is slated for restoration this summer.

The Alaska 140 is hooked up to the other chimney and its a tight fit. With the pallet racking along that wall and the oil pump and reservoir for the in ground lifts I would lose too much storage space installing it there.

One option might be to put a second thimble on the back side of the stove shop chimney I would like to set this up with a 5 ton coal bin in an area where it can be filled with my suppliers high lift delivery truck.

Looks like you guys hit the nail on the head. I took a look at the inside of the coupling, and the unpainted ends of the pipes . It was obvious the pipes definitely had a 4" or more gap in between them.

Yah, that looks like the problem. Make sure you get the pipes butted up against each other when you tighten up the coupler bolts.

I don't know what you're going to do with all of your spare time after you get this thing hooked up. It's nothing like a hand fired, you only tend it once or twice a week! :o

I found a few pieces of 2" stainless pipe in the container and decided to make a few auger tubes.

Was able to salvage the end of the original aluminum one and used it for a pattern for the vent holes. One thing I noticed is the aluminum one had a slot on the top and bottom and was installed upside down with the vent holes at the bottom. :o

According to the EFM manual the vent holes are supposed to be on top. Since there is only one pin on the bottom of the housing, I made the replacments with only the bottom notch.
