CDF, cast iron boilers are factory tested at 45psi min up to 100psi. The axeman is steel and should be welded to pressure vessel specs, you cant blow it up if you go over 30psi, just don’t do it while it’s hooked up to the existing house plumbing.

It was holding pressure and functioning fine when it was shut down last year is what I was told. I’ll pressure test it before I do anything else.
Do you have a hot water heating system in your house already?

I have f/a, so I’ll be doing a w/a exchanger and a plate for hot water.

I’ll test it with water. My gut tells me coal just wasn’t his thing. But it’ll get a good going over.

There is no sense in using the coil if the boiler is in the garage. It's a very long run even if the garage is attached. I did it once and it always took a very long time to get hot water to any faucet.

Don , completely agree, unless you have a wash room in the garage.

If the coil is good, I will leave it in for car washing and other needs, if bad it’s getting a plate.
