Hello. When the temperature drops outside (0-20F), my radiator temps are not as hot as they are when it is warmer. For instance, we just had a day in the 50's. The radiators were hot to the touch. When we had the frigid temps a week ago, the radiators were warm--not hot. Is it simply a lose of BTU's as the hot water travels through the system? Should I get more pipe insulation? Should I look for ways to insulate the boiler?
Thanks.

Is your boiler maintaining the correct temperature per the aquastat settings?
In mild weather your efm might run a little hot due to timer cycles. e.g. boiler is idling at 190, circulator kicks on and you have 190 degree water going to the radiators.
Does your boiler run up to the high limit setting when the thermostat is calling for heat?
