I lit the Axeman 130 up today. This is about 4-6 weeks earlier than the usual lighting of the previous hand fed furnace. We have some nighttime lows dipping into the 30's starting tomorrow night so we'll need some heat. The AA is heating DHW also so I figured as soon as we need some heat she's gettin lit.

Has anyone else lit up yet?

My EFM is sitting quietly waiting for me to repipe the heating system. I finished cutting all the old pipes out today, so it is time to get the stetch pad out.

My brother fired his up yesterday. Keeps the basement warm and dry.

That's certainly a great bonus. My basement becomes a swamp over the summer.. :what:

You should see mine. Every pipe invite drops a gallon of water it seems. I have a fan and dehumidifier running.

I burn year around but I did shut down long enough to complete the yearly deep clean last Thursday. It's ready for another heating season. All we have to do is turn up the thermostat!

Normally down here we would still be seeing 80 and 90 days. I just took a look at the forecast and I see a bunch of mid 60's for highs and mid 40's for lows! :o

Not sure what happened but I like it!

My current plan is to keep running the Van Wert until about mid-December then switch over to the Axeman.

Do you measure coal? Just curious how much you use thru June, July and August.

I bet those Chubbys are great for running short cool snaps in the shoulder months.

What's the reasoning for switching in mid December? Do you prefer the Van for summer burning?
