I am looking into resurrecting an old (1940s or 1950's) steam boiler. Will be converting to HW. That part isn't the problem. Furnace is fed by separate hopper with worm controls at rear base of hopper. name is all but obliterated: (something) belt stoker. Gearbox is still there but blower and motor assembly gone. ANY help toward finding compatible parts appreciated. Any information on Pacific Steel Boiler also useful. Thanks.

Hello cellardweller,, you are going to have to post some photos of the stoker, the parts and pieces that are there,, maybed someone can identify it.

We have a name! we found a metal tag on the blower tube which reads: Link Belt Stoker / part no. 325-407-? . the part number may just be for the blower tube ( which is a 2"x5" rectangular sheet steel tube which ran from the blower at the back of the hopper right into the firebox, running parallel to the worm. Also running next to the worm is a tumbler rod which operates an ash-kicking ring around the grate- circular grate). Anyone hear of such a "critter"? Will add pics when figure out how.

That sounds like one of the many after-market add-on conversion stoker units.. like the Iron Fireman, which I have one..

You are the first forum member to have one of your 'Link-Belt' stokers.. Once you post some photos,, maybe we can make some suggestions.

It's going to be tough though.. you might have to use your imagination and creative thinking to get it running.

PS.. there is a tutorial about how to post photos near the bottom of the list of forums..
