Anybody know if you can make a baffle out of 3/8 plate. Mine has been a baffle to long actually fell out and snuffed the fire out today.download/file.php?mode=view&id=101933

Call your EFM man.

My 0.02 - You can certainly make a baffle out of steel to get you through the season, but it will warp a lot faster than a factory baffle.

I made one out of 3/8 plate for a 520 last year, still looks good

Maybe I can find some 3/4" That wont warp although be kinda heavy to install. And yes a fat guy can get in the ash door. Been there done that.

Had good luck welding 2-1/4"plates together.

I got a couple pieces 3/8" here. I am going make on out of it if it dont last no big deal. Scottscoaled I still have not made a clean out door for the fly ash in back. One of these days I am not gonna be lazy.

Phil if you want a piece of cast iron for that baffle, old pianos had a large sheet of cast iron that the strings are pulled over. It's wide enough to cut a baffle from.
