1691.50 lbs. coal fed into the Kaa-4 in February. 975 HDD's. I estimate 3 lbs. per day for DHW and the rest for home heating.

(1691.5-87)/975= 1.646 lbs. per HDD for home heating only.

HL - 220°
LL -165°
Dump - 225°
Timer - 52 sec every 10 min
Thermostat - 72.5°

1940's cape cod with decent windows (at just under 1,900 ft elevation). No insulation in brick/plaster walls, attic insulated with 12" fiberglass

1500 lbs for me as of this morning. 1290 degree days. Pretty much inline with how much I have been burning so far.

This is the first winter I have tried running the timer at 2 minutes once per hour, and the boiler at a steady temperature. Other than a few weeks in January, I have run the boiler at 160-170 all winter. This is also the first winter with the zone on our first floor split into two zones.

I can't compute valid S-130 coal pounds per HDD for February, because I was also burning wood in the ComfortMax on 5 days during the month.

What can be said is that my initially projected 1.53 lbs. of coal burned per HDD was turned into 1.33 lbs. per HDD by burning wood for 5 out of 29 days. That plus I calculated 997.5 HDD's for the month.

That plus my best guess is that the wood stove is ~88% as efficient as the coal boiler.
