Hello members. Except for hours of browsing all the great info on this forum I am completely unfamiliar with coal and coal burning boilers. I have an opportunity to buy an aa-130 (I think that is what it is) for my house that I am currently building, and have a few questions.
1: What is the weight of an aa-130 ?And can it be disassembled so that 2 people could carry it out of a basement ?
2: Is $1500 a good price for a 40 year old unit in good shape?
Thanks for any and all answers .

Hello ncountry, welcome..
The AA 130 weighs around 900#, but the fan, doors, fan motor, auger etc can be removed. The boiler itself is the heaviest part, proably about 500#. You could pu this part on a heavy appliance cart and use a winch to winch it up a stairway.. Don't try moving it with just muscle.
$1500 is a very fair price for a functioning AA130.
