1709.50 lbs. coal fed into the Kaa-4 in December. 1064 HDD's. I estimate 3 lbs. per day for DHW and the rest for home heating.

(1709.50-93)/1064= 1.519 lbs. per HDD for home heating only.

HL - 220°
LL -165°
Dump - 225°
Timer - 52 sec every 10 min
Thermostat - 72.5°

1940's cape cod with decent windows (at just under 1,900 ft elevation). No insulation in brick/plaster walls, attic insulated with 12" fiberglass

I installed an electric hot water heater over the summer and intended to add a plate exchanger before winter, which did not happen. I re-zoned the first floor of my house and never got back to the plate hx project.

Yes.

I am not sure how much of my previous coal consumption was due to DHW.

I just stick with the standard 65° computation. I believe It's more common and likely more accurate for most.
