Hello I have an EFM 520 that works great but my current mechanical timer is limping along, and having the fire go out twice on Christmas day once at 2am, it is time for new one. I am attaching a photo of the Cramer timer that came with the unit when we bought this house.

In looking on this site and doing research, I can see that the Intermatic timers that used to be recommended are no longer being produced. The other name I see is Will-burt but looking on their website I can't seem to find any timers under their products.

I see where people are showing the solid state timers they are implementing but I don't have any understanding of them and was hoping to just find a mechanical timer I could use to replace the Cramer that is failing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Tork still makes mechanical timers. I don't know if they only have the 24 hour cycle timers or have shorter cycle timers available.

The solid state timers you have seen on here are wired basically the same as the old mechanical ones since the switching concept is identical. Since some come in 12 and 24 v versions you just have to make sure the switch relay is rated for the 120V and current draw you use. The one I bought could be used on a variety of hourly cycles, the directions were written in chinglesh so it took a little trial and error to get it to do what i wanted but it really wasn't too confusing.

The Wil-burt timers are available from EFM. They are very expensive.

I have used this percentage timer on a few boilers with good results. It is easy to wire up and very quiet.

If you hit "quote" on your post, you'll see all the CRAP Am-zon adds to a URL to kill a link.

Delete everything after the product number ('/ref' and on) to get good links.
