Video is done. Just watched it and realized I misspoke about halfway through. I was able to go back and delete the few seconds of video with the mistake - should be fine now.

awesome!

when i got the efm af-150 in 06 everyone wanted 200 bucks for a mechanical timer. i found a free mechanical timer that had one setting an hour, it did the job, i ran the stoker 8 minutes an hour to keep the fire going. one of these digital timers would have been nice.
going to use one of these for my upcoming boiler project.

Good video Rob!

I was curious how these actually worked, nice description. Now maybe someone will do a video of those MYPIN PID's I might understand how they actually work.

Short video??? I think this is the longest one you have posted!

I might take it a step farther and add a second one of these timers to the box. Can set it it up to reset the hold fire timer when there is a heat call. I mentioned this in the video but did not go into detail.

Not a bad idea. That way the timer will restart at the end of every heat call instead of just running obliviously. I guess you will be installing that jumper then?

Yes - timer 1 would get installed with the "on" cycle first, and with power through the NC contacts to the second timer. Timer 2 would have the "off" cycle first. With this orientation, whenever timer 1 is powered on longer than the T1 setting (e.g. 5 minutes), the NC contacts open and reset the 2nd timer.

Great idea pairing the second timer to reset the timer cycle after heat call!

I just ordered the second timer. With any luck it will be here in a month.

Thanks - personally I think I sound like an idiot when I watch it. Never realized how many times I could say "umm" in 7 minutes. :annoyed:

That kinda stuff is easily disregarded when the person watching is eager to learn and do :)

OK, I think I understand this but I'ma gonna need a schematic to be sure. Type slowly and use big pictures... :)

Being home this past year, I got real tired of timer calls bumping off the HI limit. My office is within earshot so I can hear it startup and short cycle right after a heat call. Don't want to do the Hydrostat, the Honeywell mechanical is too bulletproof to mess with so, I'll mess with my 60 year old timer instead. Should be a nice summer project.
