So, i have a new df520,I have a Hydrostat 3250-plus "low water cut-off) operating it now. I'm looking to add an aquastat (or two) for a dump zone using a honeywell L4006B1163 or L4081B. Also L6006A for out fires. I'm not set on these particular aquastats. The Hydrostat 3250 plus has a digital display and I like looking at the temp display, can anyone help me find a digital electronic aquastat(or two).
Do I need to shut the stoker off when the aquastat is activated in dump mode
I know EFM recomends L6006A for outfires and shuts off the stoker

A dump zone is not needed, but if you want one it won't hurt anything. Did you install a few extra aquastat wells? I am not aware of any electronic equivalents of the Honeywells you mentioned.

L4006B will work for dump zone, or an outfire control (but not both unless you have two aquastats). L6006A will work fine for either function also.

Personally I run a L4006A as a 2nd high limit control, and don't have a dump zone or an outfire control. Remember, a dump zone won't save you from a run away boiler unless the load exceeds the boiler capacity.
